I had the pleasure of photographing the amazing pottery of my friend Katie Yang of Katie Yang Designs. Now I am no expert on pottery, other than that I appreciate great talent when I see it, but don’t let me convince you of her mad skills. Take it from the experts. Katie has already been recognized for her work in the short period of time she has been at this. And as much as I would love to say my photos make her stuff look great, the real pieces are that much better! Take a look and enjoy.

About Bennet
I am an emerging fashion and portrait photographer.
I love to tell stories through my fashion imagery while bringing out the beauty of both the clothing and the subject. I truly enjoy letting my imagination run wild with new ideas and then realizing those ideas through the process of storyline creation, photo shoot planning and execution in both digital and print. I have worked with many wonderful models from top agencies, have shot images for various designers at New York’s Fashion Week, and have a topnotch team of make-up, hair and fashion styling experts essential to the creation of the fashion and editorial images I produce.
My portraits go beyond just superficial appearance to a level deeper so that the viewer gains something more than just an aesthetically pleasing image. By creating a rapport between subject and photographer that is unhindered by the camera’s intrusion, I am able to produce pictures that are at once authentic, classical and timeless.
While often shooting images in rich colors that pop with a life-like feel to them, I also love to explore the inherent drama and special qualities of black and white photography.
Raised in NYC, I was influenced by my father, who carried a Leica or Fuji rangefinder at his side and taught me the basics of photography, and by my mother, who gave me her Kodak twin-lens reflex camera at the age of 11.
Outside of my lifelong passion for photography, I have a diverse background that includes starring in off-off Broadway musicals, solo performances on a recording for a well-known children’s choir, years of experience in the technology field, and learning to speak Japanese while studying abroad. All of these and other experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the arts, a strong understanding of all aspects of digital photography workflow and Digital Asset Management, the knowledge to coordinate and direct successful photo shoots, and an appreciation for, and ability to work with, people from very diverse ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
I shoot with various professional digital cameras and a host of studio and on-location lighting equipment. I do my own retouching and printing using today’s leading edge editing and printing tools and I am always looking for ways to improve upon the quality of the images I produce for my clients.
I am based in New York City.

Very unique designs! Still life photography is clearly hard since it depends all on the lighting and the angle. Your pictures make something mundane look extraordinary. There’s a certain loneliness to the pictures which highlights the single object in the frame. That is my opinion. Great work!
